Snowball Path is a free planning tool that uses numbers you enter to show current net worth and a range of possible future goal dates. It does not request a bank connection or account.
The problem it addresses
Knowing individual account balances is different from seeing whether your overall finances are moving toward a goal. This calculator combines assets and debts, then estimates what could happen if your saving pace and selected assumptions continued.
Calculation method
- Net worth is assets minus debts.
- Real return is calculated as
(1 + expected return) ÷ (1 + inflation) − 1. - The goal date is the first projected month that net worth reaches the target. The selected return applies only while net worth is positive. Monthly savings are assumed to retain today’s purchasing power.
- The retirement target is annual spending divided by the selected withdrawal rate. It is an exploration value, not a prescription.
Free and private by design
The core calculator requires no registration, payment or bank connection. Entries are stored in your browser only. If advertising is activated later, it will remain outside the input and core-results flow and will not influence calculations.
What the estimate excludes
The model does not include taxes, product fees, year-to-year market volatility, loan interest, pension income, insurance costs, asset liquidity or country-specific rules. It does not apply an investment return while net worth is negative.
Expected returns and withdrawal rates are assumptions, not guarantees. This calculator provides an estimate, not individualized financial, investment, tax or legal advice.
